Over the centuries, society and populations have changed and traditional theological ways have not always kept up and cannot be as applicable to our day to day lives. Liberation theology on the other hand is pertinent to issues we are faced with and can be applied to our daily ways of life. This is evident in a variety of ways when comparing the two side to side. The purpose of education is to learn, not to only learn : math, reading, science etc. but other components that matter to life. While in school students not only learn the basic curriculum but also c ritical thinking, creativity, interpersonal skills and a sense of social responsibility . A teachers role is undefined because as a teacher you are so much more than just a "teacher". You are a nurse, parent, mentor, educator, leader, security etc. In education you are the one who teaches the child material for them to move on to the next level in life. To the parents you are the person preparing their child for greatness, the one keeping them safe for 8 hours out of the day. My opinion on the role of a student is that students are there to learn and get life experience in the 8 hours that they're at school. Their only job is to take everything in, from curriculum to life experiences. Of course they need to be trying to get good grades and behaving accordingly, but the main purpose is for them to learn. My belief about teaching is easy, if they aren't interested its just going to go through one ear and out the other. As a former student I have first hand experience with this, so my belief for learning is that it has to be interesting, the child needs to be engaged and eager to learn if the material is ever going to stick.
